Fragadelphia 17 Groups Revealed
In a historic year for Fragadelphia, with the most Last Chance Qualifer sign-ups in history, the groups for the main stage have finally been determined. The Last Chance Qualifier featured notable international teams like oNe, Apeks, BLVKHVND, 7AM, and BIG Academy alongside over 30 domestic teams that entered hoping to get their shot at the lion's share of $100,000. In the end, only sixteen teams remain with a shot at securing the grand prize.
This Fragadelphia's Last Chance Qualifier was truly brutal; a BO3 double elimination bracket that required teams to secure three series victories before finally locking a place in the main stage. Even favorite squads like Apeks struggled at certain points during the arduous bracket, as the international squad was knocked down to the lower bracket by BIG Academy in a hotly-contested series. Similarly, EG.White slipped towards the end of their LCQ run, as they dropped a map against young UK side 7AM, before the former Party Astronauts rallied the last two maps to claim a series victory, which included a 16-0 on the decider of Nuke.
Group A sees heavy favorites BIG Academy and timbermen flanked by Victorum and Argon, with the lattermost squad making their way to the main stage thanks to the Fragadelphia Season Rankings. Group B is a stacked affair, as Apeks find themselves joined by oNe, Squirtle Squad, and Phantom Troupe (formerly Northern Forces). While Apeks are certainly favorites to move on from this group, it will not be without stiff competition.
Group C's selling point is ATK, one of the top squads invited to the event, joined by EG Black, Davenport University, and UK side BLVKHVND. The final group, Group D, is headlined by EG White, followed by DETONATE, Electrify Steel, and Vendetta.
