Variance release SPAMMER; add zNf and BASE
Variance have announced the release of Bilal "SPAMMER" Ali from their starting roster, and have added Donovan "zNf" Froid and Colton "BASE" Musella to refill their ranks. SPAMMER's departure follows recent news of his father's health taking a downturn.
The MDL team were left with only four members following Spongey's move to The Quest on Friday, with zNf and BASE both being added to the starting roster yesterday. zNf has been inactive since he was benched from Vireo.pro in November, although a brief stand-in appearance for Mythic in the ECS Season 7 Pinnacle Cup saw him return to the server against Zone and The Quest.
BASE found himself in a similar position as he was removed from Polar Ace this past weekend due to "unresolved issues" seemingly preventing the squad from reaching their maximum potential. Shortly after his removal, BASE released a tweet announcing his search for a team as either an in-game leader or player, going on to say that he is "an even better fragger when [he is] not calling."
Variance are now composed of:
- Ezekiel "KmZ" Hughes
- Justin "FaNg" Coakly
- Kevin "4pack" Przypasniak
- Donovan "zNf" Froid
- Colton "BASE" Musella
- George "Powerzz" Yaede (Backup)
- Stoyno "neska" Atansov (Backup)
Variance are currently competing in MDL Season 31 and WINNERS League Season 2, where they currently hold 1-1 and 0-1 records, respectively. They are set to compete in a double-header for MDL on Thursday against Royal and Spacestation, with their first match scheduled for 8 PM EDT.
Update: Variance's coach, Huthaifa "blitzz" Khan, has seemingly also parted ways with the team, having left the ESEA roster this morning.
