MIBR need a BIT of help for IEM Dallas
Brazilian squad MIBR have announced that new addition Breno "brnz4n" Poletto will not be attending IEM Dallas with the team, as the organization was unable to secure a visa for the player in time. In his stead, the team will be using veteran coach Bruno "BIT" Fukuda Lima as a stand-in.
Fans of MIBR will be sorely disappointed by this development, both because the squad is unable to field their entire roster, but also because this pushes back what was supposed to be brnz4n's big-event debut with the team. After a nine-month tenure with MIBR Academy, brnz4n received the call up to the main squad in recent days to replace Adriano "WOOD7" Cerato, who was benched following a 2-3 exit from the Challengers stage of the PGL Major in Antwerp.
Although this would have been brnz4n's first big event with MIBR, he has already played a series with his new team, recently participating in the Teleperformance PXP 2022 show match against a new-look OG. OG took out MIBR 2-0 without issue, with brnz4n posting a server-low 0.63 rating. Granted, these results should be taken with a grain of salt considering it was only a show match.
brnz4n is not the only player who has had difficulty in reaching IEM Dallas. The reason MIBR is attending in the first place is due to Heroic’s "pre-travel COVID-19" issues, while other squads have been forced to use a variety of stand-ins. Notable examples include NIP utilizing Erik "ztr" Gustafsson in place of Hampus "hampus" Poser, Janusz "Snax" Pogorzelski stepping in for ENCE in lieu of Lotan "Spinx" Giladi, and Astralis coach Martin "trace" Heldt missing the event altogether.
MIBR’s lineup for IEM Dallas is:
-
Marcelo "chelo" Cespedes
-
Raphael "exit" Lacerda
-
Matheus "Tuurtle" Anhaia
-
Jhonatan "JOTA" Willian
-
Bruno "BIT" Lima (Stand-In)
-
Breno "brnz4n" Poletto (Ineligible)
MIBR will be squaring off against Complexity, a squad looking to make a statement on their home turf after a disappointing Major result. The two will meet on the server Monday at 03:30PM.
