UPDATE: BBC cut Poison on eve of Advanced playoffs

It seems that Poison might be a little... toxic.

Early this morning, a tweet from Anthony "agony" Masterton showed screenshots of a scrim between his team Black and BBC. In one screenshot, David "Toy" Han can be seen calling off the scrim due to the fact that Everett "Poison" Ivy "refuses to play."

When contacted by Dust2.us regarding the player, Toy responded that "None of us want to deal with his attitude", and confirmed that the player had been cut from the team.

In one of the replies to the above tweet, Oceanic member Jimmy "Nurfed" McFadden had the following to say:

He hasn't changed at all since we picked up for a few games end of S26... he's a good kid out of game, but he can't control himself and has a rough time making the game not miserable for everyone else he's playing with. Was hoping he'd fixed that by now because he has the skills.

The timing could not be much worse for BBC, as it came less  than 24 hours before their opening match of ESEA Advanced playoffs, set to take place tonight against Legacy. Dust2.us have been informed that the team will either use "burrite" as their fifth player, or forfeit — though they are carrying former Tempo Storm man Ricky "sLip" Cohen on their roster as well.

For their part, agony and Black will also be participating in ESEA Advanced playoffs, with their first match pitting them up against Variance.

Update: Dust2.us reached out to Poison, who got back to us after the publication of this article. Here is his response:

It was a little weird circumstances, but people aren't usually interested in the truth, so I kinda gave up trying to explain. To put it simply we (me and minus) joined this team with the expectation of just showing up for matches, and in exchange being taught by more experienced players. In reality after the first few games, the environment seemed way more toxic and negative than I had anticipated. Eventually things came to a boiling point when I had heard from a friend of mine that Toy had tried to secretly replace me before the roster lock, without any sort of criticism - constructive or not, because I played "selfish". Personally I felt this was the opposite of how I approached the season, and really killed my ambition for the season, given the whole point of 'wasting' this season without practice on a normal team was to take advantage of their knowledge of the game to learn and be better. After roster lock I tried to put my head down and just play the matches to not screw over their chances, but I let my emotions bubble into the game. I had every intention to play my hardest for our playoff game, but ultimately it was their decision to cut me the day before.

To be fair to them, I was not able to handle the prospect of playing after having almost been removed very well, I think the best thing for everyone would have been if I had left on my own when I found out, but I thought I could keep it together for the rest of the season when I couldn't.
