compLexity and AZIO stay undefeated in ECS S6 Challenger Cup
After the events of day two of the ECS Season 6 Challenger Cup, compLexity and AZIO will be the ones to battle for the first spot in the ECS and Gorilla Gang and Bravado are now pushed to the lower bracket where they now await their opponents.
With both matchups beginning at the same time, it was AZIO to put down Gorilla Gang quicker in a 2-0 venture.
AZIO started Dust 2 hot with a quick ten round win streak on the T-side before the Gang crawled back to 10-5 at the half. In a back and forth series of rounds in the second half, AZIO was able to close the game 16-11.
Inferno would reverse Dust 2's half in favor of Gorilla Gang 10-5 on their T-side, but with both teams struggling to handle the defensive side of the map AZIO's 11-1 second half was able to bury the map with the same 16-11 scoreline.
In a bout that would go to three maps, each was a quick and painful affair that both would have to endure as compLexity was able to take the blood bath series over Bravado 2-1.
Call it post-Major rust or Inferno burnout, but compLexity's signature map would not go as they would have hoped, losing the map 16-2 to the South African side. With a strong 13-2 half, a quick T-side pistol round and a 2.22 HLTV rating from Aran "Sonic" Groesbeek, Bravado had to pray compLexity's rust continued.
It didn't. Bravado's decision to pick Dust 2 appeared to be good for them, with a close 9-6 half in favor of the Major quarter-finalists, but once coL was able to play defense, Bravado was unable to win a single round, dousing them down 16-6.
With Nuke being decided as the final map, the quick pace gameplay wouldn't let up with compLexity once again flexing with a 12-3 lead at the half. Successfully winning the pistol round, Shahzeb "ShahZaM" Khan's squad cleaned up their T-side 4-0 to close the map 16-3, punting Bravado into the lower bracket.
With a single upper bracket game left to be played, as well as the entire lower bracket, the matchups will look as such:
