MIBR overcome sleep deprivation, thrash Flash
MIBR have taken down Flash in their quarterfinal match at the ZOTAC Cup Masters 2018, winning 2-0 (16-3 Inferno, 16-1 Cache). Flash have been eliminated, while MIBR move on to face MVP PK in the semifinals.
On the first map of Inferno, Flash actually won the second round to reset MIBR, before losing the following round to get reset themselves. They were only able to win two other rounds in the half, to sit at a 3-12 scoreline. With Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo leading the charge, MIBR took the remainder rounds and closed the map 16-3.
The second map Cache was an even bigger stomp for the pan-American team. Flash only managed to secure a single round in the middle of the first half to be down 1-14. This time it was Jake "Stewie2K" Yip who put up a 2.09 rating to help MIBR close out the map 16-1 and the series 2-0.
MIBR move on to the semifinals, where they will face the Koreans of MVP PK. MVP took down Virtus.pro 2-1 earlier in the day to advance themselves. This match also ended up being the single quarterfinal that was not an upset. The action will continue tonight, with the first semifinal between Ghost and Kinguin set to take place at 4:30 AM EDT.
