Renegades keep Major hopes alive; set to face Tainted Minds
After defeating SCARZ Absolute, Renegades have earned themselves a final shot at qualifying for the FACEIT Major. They will have to defeat fellow Australians Tainted Minds to book a return trip to London come September.
The Renegades squad started their day off by falling to TyLoo 2-1 in a close series. By winning this series, TyLoo advanced to the finals of the Asian Minor and clinched a spot in the FACEIT Major Main Qualifier.
After that heartbreaking defeat, Renegades got revenge against SCARZ Absolute. The mostly Australian team won the Bo3 2-1, winning their pair of maps decisively, 16-2 and 16-7.
Justin "jks" Savage has been the MVP for Renegades so far this tournament. He had another great performance against SCARZ Absolute going 70-44 across three maps and ending the day with an ADR of 106.4.
Renegades will be the heavy favorites going into their match against Tainted Minds. Before the event had started and SCARZ Absolute threw the group stage into chaos, it would have been nigh unthinkable for the Australian/American/Norwegian side to miss out on advancing to the next stage of the Major.
