trk had a spectacular series against BlackOut

oNe top Group A of StarSeries Season 6 qualifier, Mythic eliminated

The first two teams to move on to the playoffs have been determined.

oNe is the first team to emerge victorious from Group A of the StarSeries i-League Season 6 Americas qualifier after taking a 2-0 win over BlackOut in the winners' matchup. Swole Patrol also claimed victory over Mythic in the first match of the day, with the defeat seeing the stream team eliminated from the tournament.

The day began with Mythic and Swole Patrol set to face off on Dust2, Nuke, and Train, with Mythic's pick of Dust2 seeing Eric "adreN" Hoag and co. starting on the CT side. An absolutely dominant defensive half saw Mythic put up a stellar 12-3 half, with James "hazed" Cobb and adreN putting up a number of multi-kill rounds to bring rounds back into the team's favor on numerous occasions.

A second half pistol victory seemed to all but affirm a commanding first map win for Mythic, but a force-buy from Swole Patrol put a halt to Mythic's plans. From here the map was all Swole Patrol as Ryan "freakazoid" Abadir and Austin "Cooper-" Abadir took it in turns to find opening frags for their side, leading to an even more dominant CT half for the MDL team as they put up a 13-1 scoreline to shut out Mythic and end the map 16-13.

Nuke saw Swole Patrol once again take a commanding lead as Jordan "Zellsis" Montemurro picked up three MP9 kills against Mythic's first buy round, allowing Swole a 5-0 lead before Mythic got themselves on the board with two of their own.

Two hard fought rounds saw Swole emerge victorious in the economy battle, continuing the CT side dominance in the series. Todd "anger" Williams managed to secure four frags to grab Mythic one final round in round 15, leading to another 12-3 first half with Zellsis ending his CT side at 120 ADR and a 20-3 K-D.

Mythic tried to keep themselves in the match as another four kills on the second pistol round granted the team some breathing room, but much like on Dust2 the team found themselves falling to a force-buy from Swole Patrol to give up their advantage. From here it was smooth sailing for Swole Patrol as freakazoid took charge for the muscle men, closing out the map 16-4 to eliminate Mythic from the running.

The winners' match and second series of the day saw oNe facing off against BlackOut on Train, Overpass, and Mirage, with oNe's pick of Train up first.

A first round pistol victory gave oNe the standard 3-0 lead, but some struggles once BlackOut picked up rifles saw a number of close rounds go the way of the North Americans. There was no reply from oNe until BlackOut sat upon a firm 7-3 lead, at which point the Brazilians began to fight back with Alencar "trk" Rossato helping to find the remaining rounds in the half to take the lead 8-7.

The second pistol round of the game also went the way of oNe to extend their lead to 11-7, and with the first gun round in the bag managed to extend their lead to 15-7. BlackOut were able to fight back to give themselves a round on their T side, but trk and co. quickly closed out the match afterward to dominate their map pick 16-8.

Overpass began with BlackOut in control, taking a firm 5-0 lead after a pistol round victory on their T side. oNe fought back with two rounds, but were shut out for much of the remainder of the half as Collin "wrath" McSweegan and Chad "Oderus" Miller led the way for the North American side.

The Brazilians scraped together three of the last four rounds on their CT side, but the final round slipped by the wayside as Oderus secured four AWP frags in a two-on-four to give BlackOut their tenth round.

The second pistol round also went BlackOut's way to grant the MDL team a chance to close out the map in quick fashion. Despite some back-and-forth trading in rounds, BlackOut came out on top to put themselves in touching distance of match point at 14-5, and when oNe secured their first round to put a halt to the streak, wrath took out all three of the retreating Brazilian players to crush their economy.

Sebastian "seb" Bucki ensured the full reset came through by finding four frags, with three coming from a UMP. With match point in hand, the stage seemed set for BlackOut to take the series to map 3, but trk, Nicolas "NikoM" Miozzi, and Victor "iDk" Torraca fought back round-after-round to take the map to overtime despite wrath's best efforts to close it out.

Overtime kicked off with Pedro "Maluk3" Campos showing up in a big way for his side, picking up an ace with the AWP and clutching out a 1vs3 to take the first round of overtime for oNe. The remaining two rounds were split between the sides, with oNe leading the way 17-16 as they swapped back to the CT side that they had struggled on in the first half.

Once again trk proved to be the key factor for oNe as three kills from the Brazilian granted oNe match point on Overpass for the first time, and the rest of the team chimed in the bring the comeback to a close 19-16 and see oNe make their way out of Group A.

Mythic have been eliminated from the StarSeries i-League Season 6 qualifier, while Swole Patrol survive to face off against BlackOut in tomorrow's decider match at 7 PM EDT. oNe have advanced to the playoffs, where they and the four invited high seed teams await the remaining winners of the two groups.
