MDL Season 28 Week 3 Recap - Born with Freedom
The third week of MDL Season 28 has concluded with Fam143's victory over Squirtle Squad on Mirage, granting Justin "NeX" McLellan and co. the 2 wins the player predicted in the comments of our recap from last week.
Gorilla Gang's 16-0 victory and 1-16 defeat last week was notable, and this week saw them unable to make anything stick. Losses to FYB and Born plummets the team towards the bottom of the standings.
As one of our notable matchups from week 2, Born managed to prevail over the Gang and take a 16-4 win over AZIO to grant themselves 2nd on the leaderboard, falling just short of Freedom 35 who stand tall with a 5-0 record themselves.
Week 3 also saw Swole Patrol's debut in Season 28, with Ryan "freakazoid" Abadir's team falling short against MDL Jammers in a 14-16 loss. The team recovered from the defeat quickly this weekend as they fought for a slot at the ZOTAC Cup Americas Regional, eliminating Dignitas, Bravado, and Rogue from the running to claim a spot at the LAN for themselves.
Dignitas continue to impress in MDL with their roster, prevailing over Bravado 16-5 to maintain a flawless record of their own. Although they failed to qualify for ZOTAC's Americas Regional, they still earned a spot earlier in the week at the Americas Minor Closed Qualifier by defeating iNTACT in the second Open Qualifier, leaving the team with satisfactory results overall.
The complete schedule for the upcoming week remains unknown, but the start of the week is sure to draw eyes as last week's Mythic vs. Dignitas matchup was rescheduled to Tuesday at 9 PM EDT.
