Mythic and Dignitas advance to Minor Closed Qualifier
The Americas Minor closed qualifier has seen the addition of Mythic and Dignitas following the teams' victories in the semifinals over F1-racecar-PEEK and iNTACT, respectively.
Both matchups saw Inferno kicking off the series, with Mythic and Dignitas starting on the T side against their opponents. Todd "anger" Williams and Peter "ptr" Gurney powered their teams to 11-4 leads, with the second half seeing Dignitas close out the series with a swift 16-5 scoreline and Mythic following suit with a 16-6 result of their own.
The second map was a closer affair for both teams, once again ending with mirrored halftime scores at 7-8. Mythic were able to quickly seize control on their CT side of Nuke thanks to a stellar performance from Eric "fl0m" Flom, with the stream team giving up only four more rounds before they closed out their series against Alex "lanhero" Suarez and company.
fl0m ended the second map with 31 frags, putting up 117 ADR to push his team through to the closed qualifier. Mitch "m1tch" Semago put up similar numbers on Overpass for Dignitas, although his 28 kills and 100 ADR were dwarfed by ptr's 124 ADR and 29-8 K-D performance on Inferno.
With these victories, Mythic and Dignitas join Swole Patrol and Bravado on the Minor closed qualifier team list, with two more open qualifiers on the horizon to decide which four teams will qualify alongside them. An additional eight teams will receive an invite to participate, with the qualifier kicking off on June 22nd.
