Bravado and Swole Patrol through to Minor Closed Qualifier
The first North American Open Qualifier for the Americas Minor for the FACEIT Major in London has concluded, with Bravado Gaming and Swole Patrol decided as the first two teams that will proceed to the Closed Qualifier for the Minor Championship.
Bravado and Gorilla Gang began the series neck and neck, with both teams trading rounds and maps. Despite an unfortunate second half on Mirage and a 16-8 loss, Bravado eventually caught their groove in the second map, edging out the Gorilla Gang with a 16-13 scoreline on Dust II.
Bravado continued and dominated Gorilla Gang on Mirage, thanks to a strong performance from Aran “Sonic” Groesbeek. Despite Josh “oSee” Ohm’s best efforts to keep his team in the game, Bravado rolled through to a 16-4 scoreline, taking the series 2-1 and proceeding to the North American Minor Closed Qualifier.

The Americas Minor Closed Qualifier will mark the first event in a CS:GO Major circuit that Bravado has competed in since being invited to DreamHack Winter 2014.
On the other side of the bracket, Swole Patrol and iNTACT duked it out for the second spot at the North American Minor Closed Qualifier. iNTACT began the first half with a strong performance, taking the lead in the first half of Overpass 10-5. Swole Patrol rebounded in the second half, taking the game into their own hands thanks to strong damage output from Jordan “Zellsis” Montemurro, closing the comeback with a 16-12 scoreline and winning the first map of the series.

Swole Patrol rolled through on Nuke, retaining their momentum and taking the first ten rounds on the terrorist side before iNTACT was able to take a round for themselves and take four rounds off of Swole Patrol. iNTACT attempted to give Swole Patrol a taste of their own medicine, attempting a comeback in the second half with an eight round killstreak thanks to strong plays from Alan “Shakezullah” Hardeman. However, Swole Patrol’s round surplus from the first half was too great for iNTACT to overcome, allowing Swole Patrol to get their last five rounds to close out the map 16-12 and win the series 2-0.
Both teams will continue in the Americas Minor NA Closed Qualifier, for which they are both the first teams confirmed to participate. The second NA Open Qualifier will play out on June 5th, with signups open on FACEIT’s website.
