Space Soldiers defeat Rogue to claim DreamHack Austin title
Space Soldiers have triumped over North American side Rogue in the grand final of DreamHack Open Austin. The series saw three blowout maps, in which the losing team did not secure double-digits.
The series started on Mirage, and the Turks got off to a splendid start, taking the pistol and four additional rounds before Rogue got on the board. They would extend their lead to 11-4 at the half, with Buğra 'Calyx' Arkın topping the board. Rogue were able to take the second pistol and draw the score to 11-8, but Space Soldiers slammed the door to take the map.
Moving onto Overpass, Rogue did not seem rattled at all, leaping out to a 6-0 start on their Terrorist side, on the way to their own 11-4 half. Space Soldiers would win only a singular round during their second half, which saw Rogue close out the map with an authoritative 16-5.
Unfortunately for Rogue, they were not able to continue their Overpass form, and found themselves on the business end of a 16-2 thrashing from the Turks on Inferno.
Rogue will next be in action in the ZOTAC Cup Masters Closed Qualifier.
