What to expect from M80 v. FURIA at BLAST Open Lisbon 2025
M80 is tasked with beating FURIA this Saturday, March 22th at BLAST Open Lisbon 2025 if they want to stay alive in the tournament.
The NA core is on the brink of elimination after falling to The MongolZ in their opening match. M80 held their own through the first two maps, just narrowly losing on Dust2 and even stealing away Ancient in the final rounds. But it all fell apart on Inferno, leading to M80 falling into the lower bracket.
M80 can hang
While the match against the MongolZ ended in a loss, the M80 side showed they can contend with top teams. Had the final two rounds of Dust2 gone their way, they could have even taken the series 2-0. Ethan "reck" Serrano and Mason "Lake" Sanderson both delivered consistently on Ancient.
The only glaring issue with M80 was their T-side on Inferno, as they found themselves down 0-7 early and couldn't dig their way out of that hole.
-
Great showing from Lake on Ancient, but rather quiet in the series as a whole
-
Tough loss, but against a much better opponent
-
Was knocked out of Pro League by FURIA just a few weeks ago
A familiar foe in FURIA
While FURIA has struggled against the top tier teams in CS2, they've routinely handled business against NA rosters. Since the start of 2025, they've beaten Wildcard, NRG, and M80, but did fall short against Liquid.
-
Just lost 0-2 to NAVI, but NAVI needed OT on Anubis to put them away
-
Kaike "KSCERATO" Cerato and Yuri "yuurih" Boian have been excellent this March
-
Beat M80 last time
Previous Matchups
As mentioned already, FURIA defeated M80 earlier this month, knocking them out of ESL Pro League.
Likely Vetoes
Given how recently the two teams played, their map vetoes are likely going to be same.

-
M80 ban Nuke
-
FURIA ban Ancient
-
M80 pick Mirage
-
FURIA pick Dust2
-
