What to expect from M80 v. G2 at BLAST Open Lisbon 2025

M80 have been given their toughest test yet against G2 to stay alive at BLAST Open Lisbon 2025 in Group B.

M80 have survived their first elimination game, but face a very tough test in G2 to continue their run at BLAST Lisbon. M80 won a three-map thriller against FURIA to arrive in the second lower bracket round, while G2 lost 2-0 to Eternal Fire their last time out.

M80 have a high ceiling but need to find form

M80 had a good showing against The MongolZ but not the result to show for it. They snapped their four-game streak against FURIA, who usually perform well against NA sides. Michael "Swisher" Schmid and Fritz "Slaxz-" Dietrich stood out for M80 against the Brazilians, but they'll also need the rest of the team to step up.

• Mason "Lake" Sanderson played well in the final map v. FURIA, but was quiet in the first two maps. He'll need to play better for M80 to have the chance to beat G2

• Swisher has struggled, but was a pillar in their most recent match. They'll need more of the same from him

G2 have to find consistency

G2 were handled with relative comfort by Eternal Fire in their last game. Ilya "m0NESY" Osipov was uncharacteristically quiet against the Turks. He'll be eager to bounce back against a lesser opponent in M80.
