CS2 breaks all-time player for the first time in 2025
Counter-Strike 2 has breached another record this week, as Valve's title recorded a 24-hour peak player count of 1,743,533 players on February 16th at 09:00AM, according to Steam Charts. This new record comes after Premier Season 2 three weeks ago while the professional circuit is well underway for 2025, with PGL Cluj-Napoca starting on February 14th.
Alongside a new peak record, the average player has also continued to grow, with Steam Charts reporting that the average number of players over the last 30 days is now 947,769. With CS2 creeping up towards Counter-Strike: Global Offensive's all-time record of 1,802,853 players, in all likelihood the new title should take the crown by the end of the year, if not sooner.
With the BLAST.tv Austin Major only a few months away, a boost in the NA player base and increased interest in the game may be the recipe for a new record.
