zont1x gives away 2nd place medal of IEM Katowice 2025
Myroslav "zont1x" Plakhotia gave away his IEM Katowice 2025 2nd place medal to a fan hours after the grand finals on February 9th. Spirit were considered favorites to win the event, but they got trounced by Vitality in the grand finals and lost by 3-0.
Some fans were waiting for Spirit at the entrance of the players' hotel in Katowice to get a photo with them, but one fan was lucky enough to earn zont1x's medal.
"I thought he was going to take a photo, but he took his medal and gave it to me," the fan said, according to a video first brought by CS2 NEWS on X.
It makes sense that zont1x was frustrated after the grand finals, as Spirit didn't really show up on the server. Also, he won the very same IEM Katowice in 2024 and recently won the Perfect World Shanghai Major and BLAST Bounty Season 1 Finals.
This isn't the first time that something like this happened as Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev also gave his IEM Cologne 2022 2nd place medal to a fan after the tournament.
