All NA teams and players eliminated before Katowice playoffs
North American fans will have no one to cheer during the IEM Katowice 2025 playoffs as all remaining teams and players have been eliminated from the tournament on February 4th.
Jonathan "EliGE" Jablonowski was NA's last hope after Spirit knocked Liquid out of IEM Katowice earlier today; however, Eternal Fire took down FaZe after an entertaining battle on Nuke.
Eternal Fire swiftly dealt with FaZe as they completely dismantled FaZe's defense on Anubis to win the first half of the map by 11-1. All that FaZe found in the second half was a mere three rounds before Eternal Fire closed out the map.
Nuke was absolute cinema as Eternal Fire and FaZe delivered an unreal sequence of back-and-forth clutches throughout regulation and overtime. In the end, Eternal Fire prevailed thanks to a superb performance from İsmailсan "XANTARES" Dörtkardeş despite Helvijs "broky" Saukants' best efforts to force the third map.
Ultimately, today's eliminations also mean that NA teams or players have yet to reach playoffs of a tier-one event in 2025. At least Complexity, Wildcard, and EliGE will have the chance to do so soon as they will play at PGL Cluj-Napoca, unlike Liquid.
