EliGE further alludes to EU move in HLTV Top 20 interview
Earlier today, HLTV named Complexity star Jonathan "EliGE" Jablonowski as the 19th best player of 2024, seeing EliGE return to the HLTV's Top 20 players list for the first time since 2021. His inclusion on the list comes at a pivotal time for America's best player, with EliGE's form being at an all-time high while Complexity has struggled to find success in CS2.
This incongruity has fueled speculation that EliGE's time on the roster may soon be coming to an end with comments made by EliGE in his Top 20 interview adding further fuel to the fire.
In a closing comment to HLTV for his Top 20 Interview, EliGE said:
"I'm going to have to manage being in a new situation potentially, but that is part of the game and I feel like now is the time to do it. I have had a long career, but I have never played on an EU team with the best players in the world, so it is also something really exciting for me to be able to experience and learn from. There will be some discomfort being in a new environment, but also a lot of excitement from the potential there."
As noted by many pundits on X, including Alex "Mauisnake" Ellenberg, the only serious interpretation of EliGE's comment is that the American is already on route to a European team for 2025 or expects to find a new home in short order. With EliGE previously announcing that he has signed with a new agent, it is hard to ignore the writing on the wall.
Likewise, with teams like FaZe, Vitality, and G2 all looking for one or more players heading into 2025, we may very well see EliGE don European colors in 2025.
