Liquid, Complexity, Wildcard, and M80 all invited to BLAST Bounty Spring closed qualifier
The start of the revamped 2025 BLAST Premier circuit begins at the end of January, with the closed qualifier for BLAST Bounty Spring.
The top 30 teams according to the Valve Global Standings have been invited to the online single-elimination bracket. Team Falcons (ranked outside the top 40) has received one of two "Wildcard" invites, alongside an undetermined team.
Both the closed qualifier bracket and the finals bracket will re-seed opponents each round and allow lower-seeded teams to choose their higher-seeded opponents, thanks to the new BLAST format.
Since Liquid, Complexity, M80, and Wildcard are all ranked high enough in the VGS, they have all been invited to the qualifier. Wildcard is coming off their surprisingly good run at the Shanghai Major, but some fans are expecting the likes of Liquid and Complexity to make roster moves. M80 will look to rally from disappointing runs at both the Thunderpick World Championship and the Shanghai Major Americas RMR.
Another welcome surprise at the BLAST Bounty Spring closed qualifier is the appearance of the Imperial Female roster. The female roster is currently ranked higher than the main roster, so they received the invite. Technically the female rosters for FURIA and NAVI are ranked higher than Imperial's, but those organizations have higher ranked teams already attending.
