Copenhagen Wolves drop out of Fragadelphia 18

The European squad have prioritized ESEA Advanced to end the year.

Fragadelphia have released the final team list for Fragadelphia 18, seeing a number of teams drop out of the $25,000 event. Of those, the most notable team to pull their attendance from the Kansas City event is Copenhagen Wolves, with the European squad missing out on the event despite being an early signup.

According to Copenhagen Wolves' CEO, Jared Habib, the team made the decision to drop out to prioritize the European division of ESEA Advanced Season 51. Copenhagen Wolves have found themselves in the Lower Bracket final of the division after besting the likes of 1win, FAVBET, and Spirit Academy before falling to Ukrainian squad L&G in the Upper Bracket Finals.

With this, CPH Wolves are now in the Lower Bracket final and have a shot at directly qualifying to ESL Challenger League Season 49 EU with a win. Beyond that, the locked into play Relegation thanks to also finishing Season 50 in fourth, meaning they are within striking distance to qualifying for ECL.

ESL Challenger League is an important division for teams in EU, much the same as in NA, as it provides a pathway to earn extra VRS points as well as a direct invite to ESL Pro League for squads that top the division.

As such, the European squad have made the unfortunate but understandable decision to forego a weekend of NA LAN action to try and qualify to ECL in 2025.
