freakazoid steps down from Mythic
Erik "fl0m" Flom has confirmed to Dust2.us that Ryan "freakazoid" Abadir has stepped down from Mythic, seeing the former Cloud9 and Ghost player leave the stream team after more than two years playing alongside his brother on the ESL Challenger League team.
fl0m told Dust2.us that freakazoid stepped down from Mythic for personal reasons following the conclusion of ESL Challenger League Season 48 last month. freakazoid's departure from Mythic is the first Major shakeup in the team's ranks following Mythic's reformation in January 2022 with a core based around fl0m, freakazoid, and Austin "Cooper" Abadir.
During his time with Mythic freakazoid competed in eight seasons of ECL with the team's fortunes waning and waxing over time with the team making playoffs three times while also having to play Relegation once. This season, Season 48, saw the team face direct demotion to ESEA Advanced Season 52 after a 5-23 regular season that saw the stream team struggle to find notable wins outside of taking a map off of Wildcard and FLUFFY AIMERS, respectively.
Mythic are now:
-
Erik "fl0m" Flom
-
Austin "Cooper" Abadir
-
Cooper "trucklover86" Phelps
-
Austin "Austin" Meadows
Mythic will be back in action on November 29th in the Perseverance League Persevere Division where the team will be taking on BOSS with a to-be-determined replacement for freakazoid.
