malbsMd qualifies for first-ever Major with G2
The accolades for Mario "malbsMd" Samayoa continue to pile up since his arrival on G2, with the Guatemalan player and former M80 member now qualifying for hist first Major at the Perfect World Shanghai Major.
While this was his first effort at qualifying with G2, it's the 5th RMR that malbsMd has competed in, having previously played in one with 00 Nation, two with LOS + oNe, and most recently with M80 at the PGL Copenhagen Major Americas RMR.
malbsMd has been a crucial component in G2's run at the RMR, putting up some big performances in the team's best-of-one wins against NiP and 9 Pandas, as well as in the decisive OT win on Nuke against Team Spirit. malbsMd is the only player from the Americas region competing in either EU RMR for this Major.
malbsMd continues to thrive with G2 since signing this past summer, with a number of deep runs at various international LANs, including trophy lifts at both the BLAST Premier Fall Final and the World Final.
G2 still awaits the upcoming Valve Regional Standings update coming after the RMRs, which will determine which stage malbsMd and company will start off in, though they almost certainly will receive an invite to the Elimination Stage.
