Liquid steal series from Spirit
Team Liquid are starting the BLAST Premier Fall Final with one in the win column, returning from a disastrous showing on their map pick to steal the series away from Team Spirit.
Liquid’s map one performance wasn’t as poor as Astralis’ was, but it wasn’t much better as Spirit rolled over Liquid on their Dust2 pick in another Danil "donk" Kryshkovets master class. Both Mareks "YEKINDAR" Gaļinskis and Roland "ultimate" Tomkowiak, who came into the BLAST Fall Finals with a lot of momentum from Pro League, really struggled in the first map, combining for 12 kills and 30 deaths. Though according to HLTV, YEKINDAR is feeling unwell at the event.
Liquid came alive on Nuke, as YEKINDAR fought through the pain and joined Keith "NAF" Markovic at the top of the scoreboard to take an 8-4 lead after their CT side. After switching sides, Spirit fought back on their CT side, bolstered by stellar play from Boris "magixx" Vorobyev, but heroics from NAF in the final round kept Liquid alive in the series, stealing away Nuke 13-11.
Both NAF and Justin “jks” Savage propelled Liquid to an early lead on Anubis, despite a huge individual effort from Dmitriy "sh1ro" Sokolov. That effort from sh1ro kept Spirit alive, but two late clutches from Liquid, capped off with a 1v3 post plant from YEKINDAR, pushed Liquid to 13-10 and the series win.
