We're headed north once more

Launders LAN 2 secures full funding from Nouns, boasts $25,000 CAD prize pool

More than double the prize pool from last time

Launders LAN 2 is officially on and bigger than ever, thanks to overwhelming support from the members of the Nouns DAO (Decentralized Autonomous Organization). The Nouns DAO is an NFT-backed project that supports the Nouns rosters, with Nouns owners submitting and voting on proposals on how to spend the group's funds.

Caster Mohan "launders" Govindasamy submitted the proposal this past August, seeking $39,125 in support of the upcoming event. $25,001 will be applied to the prize pool itself to officially give Launders LAN 2 the biggest prize pool ever for a Canadian open event. As part of the proposal, Nouns will operate as an official title sponsor for the event and will have access to several brand integration opportunities.

The proposal passed easily, with 125 voting for it, 7 voting against it, and 1 abstaining. Only users who own at least one Noun NFT are allowed to vote on proposals.

Official dates and locations have yet to be announced. The proposal page currently lists the dates Nov. 30 - Dec. 1, 2024; however, those are expected to be changed as they overlap with the Perfect World Major. FLUFFY AIMERS won the first Launders LAN at the Warehouse in Toronto this past April.
