PGL, BLAST, ESL remove Maniac from analyst desks following SA allegations

Several of the most prominent tournament organizers are distancing themselves from the analyst.

After accusations of sexual assault were made toward Counter-Strike 2 desk host and caster Mathieu "Maniac" Quiquerez yesterday, three of the biggest tournament organizers have released statements regarding Quiquerez, indicating no desire to work with him in the immediate future.

ESL put out an immediate statement yesterday, saying the organization is "investigating the matter, and moving forward, the talent will no longer be part of the ongoing broadcast of ESL Pro League." As the allegations surfaced, Quiquerez was removed from the ESL Pro League broadcast mid-match yesterday. PGL has given a short statement to Dust2.dk, stating that Quiquerez is "no longer part of the talent group for our events."

The incident in question took place following the BLAST Premier Spring Final, and BLAST broke its silence this morning with a statement posted on X:

We are aware of social media posts regarding a complaint of misconduct against a BLAST Premier talent member, following a BLAST event.

For reasons of confidentiality, we are unable to disclose specific details, but can confirm that this complaint was immediately and formally investigated and resulted in the complaint being upheld against the talent member, who is not a BLAST employee. We have communicated the outcome to the complainant in writing, and we have no current plans to work with the talent member.

Behaviour of this type has no place in any setting and everyone has the right to go to events without fearing the type of conduct that has been described to us and on social media. It will not be tolerated.

Dust2.us continues to investigate the accusations surrounding Quiquerez.
