ESEA introduces "Open10" Division, QOL improvements in latest update
ESEA have announced a number of changes and quality-of-life improvements to their leagues on FACEIT today, with the largest change being the introduction of a new division, Open10, marking the first time ESEA has changed the league structure since adding Advanced back in 2018.
According to ESEA, this new Open10 division is set to serve as a more competitive league exclusively for full FACEIT level 10 teams, that will feature larger prizes and serve as a fast-track to Intermediate, Main, and Advanced divisions. ESEA says the decision to split Open into two divisions is to make Open10 more competitive and appealing to veterans while also preserving the amateur nature of Open free of veteran level 10 stacks that will "stomp" less experienced teams.
Other changes to the league platform include a new !restart command to help resolve technical issues, a warning about enabled agent skins to avoid forfeits, a two-tier playoff structure for Open through Intermediate, and a further rolling out of FACEIT's "Find Team" feature.
Additionally, ESEA has made the decision to introduce identity verification to ESEA Advanced playoffs starting in Season 51. The feature builds on FACEIT's "Go Verify Yourself" feature and is intended to protect the integrity of the competition.
