NA squads receive official invites from Perfect World for upcoming RMR
It's official, North American squads are finally getting the invites from Perfect World to attend the upcoming 2024 Perfect World Shanghai Major Americas RMR.
Dust2.us has spoken with representatives from Complexity and M80, who confirmed that the tournament organizer has extended them an official invite.
The closed qualifier invite system across the globe features some ambiguity, as some teams in the Valve Ranking are either ineligible or not intact at this time. Additionally, some Brazilian teams reside in North America, and it is not 100% confirmed if they will be participating in the North American or South American Closed Qualifier for the Americas RMR.
The upcoming Closed Qualifiers for each region will send four teams each to the Americas RMR in Shanghai later this November to meet the eight directly invited squads.
The 2024 Perfect World Shanghai Major will be a first for several different reasons. It will be the first event of its stature to be held in Asia, the first to utilize the Valve Rankings for invites, and the first to do away with open qualifiers.
