Complexity cruise in Cologne Qualification
Never a doubt. It was literally never a doubt for Complexity. The Americans have established themselves as one of the better teams this time around as they have qualified to Cologne proper for the first time with this lineup. After two years of finishing at the bottom of the barrel, they are finally, finally, competing for some glory in Germany.
It looked easy in the end, but the opening stage of Vertigo was quite concerning for American fans. Eternal Fire chose to play on Vertigo, which used to be one of Complexity's favorite maps. The Turks were crushing their opponents in the beginning of the map as Complexity struggled to hold back their attack.
The second half went the complete opposite way. The Americans turned it right around and looked to almost have a flawless T-side. Thanks to nine T-side rounds, Complexity went from complete disaster to complete obliteration, and they stole Vertigo away 13-9.
Dust2 was an interesting pick for Complexity who should have likely been afraid of İsmailсan "XANTARES" Dörtkardeş's aim in this setting. However Complexity wasn't afraid on their T-side as the squad claimed six rounds in the first half to keep it close, but then turned on a second gear as they held back the Turkish lineup consistently on their CT-side.
However that was just the start of the second half. Eternal Fire slowly found their way back into the game and even forced multiple overtimes as Complexity struggled to keep up. Thanks to a last second 'Johnny' "JT" Theodosiou clutch, Complexity came out the winners as they have now qualified for the Cologne group stage.
