Perseverance drop roster following shock ban from ESL events

A sad end to the Canadian organization's latest investment in the NA scene.

Following Perseverance's shock disqualification from ESL Challenger League Season 48 and a two-month ban applied to the majority of the lineup, the Canadian organization has announced that the team has been dropped effective immediately due to the severe breach in competitive integrity.

With this ban, it is important to note that two of Perseverance's players remain unsanctioned and clear to compete at this time. ESL has confirmed to Dust2.us that Nelvin "nooz" Gonzalez and Chance "xaler" Palmer were uninvolved in the scheme.

ESL announced that Perseverance's lineup was disqualified from the league for requesting a reschedule under false pretenses and falsifying evidence to enable this change. The sanctions resulted in the team effectively being locked out of the NA scene for an extended period while severely harming their career prospects.

In a statement to Dust2.us, Keke, the owner of Perseverance, confirmed that to the best of their knowledge, the team lied while attempting to force a reschedule against Mythic on July 18th. Keke reiterated that this conduct is unacceptable and that the team will no longer represent Perseverance in any capacity.

Despite this shocking news striking a harsh blow to the organization, Keke confirmed that Perseverance intends to stay in the NA CS2 scene and that plans for the Perseverance Cup continue unabated.

Perseverance were:

  • United States John "mds" Marin

  • United States Gabriel "Gabe" Shah

  • United States Collin "CoJoMo" Moren

  • Cory "shutout" Frymark

  • Nelvin "nooz" Gonzalez

  • United States Mark "CooperTrooper" Cooper (Coach)
