Wildcard and LAG top NA Revival Series #1 Qualifier

Last night, the open qualifier for the first of Complexity and PrizePicks' NA Revival Series was played out, seeing ESL Challenger League squads Wildcard and LAG top the 145-team qualifier in dominant fashion. Overall, the open qualifier for the first of six events held by Complexity enjoyed strong turnout, with three ECL squads and a plethora of top ESEA Advanced squads all fighting for one of two spots in the main event.

In the qualifier, the first three rounds of the bracket were relatively uneventful, with the only squad of note being knocked out at this stage being Victorum at the hands of Final Form. In round four things began to heat up with MIGHT falling 11-13 to Homyno on Nuke and Aether taking a 13-8 loss to FLUFFY AIMERS on Ancient. Round five was where the rubber really began to meet the road as Final Form, Nomads, Homyno, Take Flyte, and Amped were all knocked out at this stage.

Moving into round six with only eight teams remaining, Wildcard faced their most difficult challenge of the night, with DETONATE winning the first half of Anubis 8-4 before Wildcard came to their senses and mounted a perfect 9-0 T-side to knock the upstarts out 13-8. Round six also saw LAG take down the Mongolian Akimbo roster 13-7 on Mirage while FLUFFY AIMERS sent Bobby "stamina" Eitrem's undefined packing with a 13-6 win on Ancient.

In the final matches of the qualifier, Wildcard clinched their spot over Unjustified with an absolutely dominant performance on Ancient, smashing the veteran squad 13-1 to make their way into the main event. As for LAG v. FLUFFY AIMERS, while FA would win the first half of Ancient 5-7 on their CT-side, LAG ultimately proved to be the better team as they mounted an 8-2 CT-side of their own to win the map 13-9.

The main event is set to start in short order tonight at 06:00PM with the following matchups:

• Wildcard v. Party Astronauts at 09:00PM
