M80 SHOCK Complexity in NA Elimination Derby
It was always going to be tough to see an American team sent home and for Complexity, they will feel that they could have done more in their fight against M80. The lineup struggled on Anubis over the last two days, despite flashes of brilliance.
It was a match where fans could easily hear Complexity CEO and Owner Jason Lake in the background as he cheered his squad on. It was also a game where Michael "Grim" Wince, Ricky "floppy" Kemery, and Mason "Lake" Sanderson saw a massive boost in their form after rough showings yesterday.
Both teams found themselves at Anubis, which if you read the Dust2 preview for the match, you would have known was the logical battleground. Complexity won the knife round and chose to start on the CT-side to their own benefit. NA's leading squad jumped out to a 7-1 lead, only to see it slip away to end up 7-5 at the half.
Complexity's T-side was equally as potent as they jumped out to an 11-5 lead, but M80 was not out of the game just yet. They slowly starting picking apart Complexity's offense and eventually got to match point at 12-11 in a miraculous comeback. If it were not for Complexity somehow managing to put it to Overtime, M80 was certainly well on their way to the next round.
Finally with guns, and a breath of fresh air, Complexity started Overtime with the first two round wins, but suddenly struggled. M80 tied it up at 14-14 to make this game even tighter. It was getting wild towards the end of overtime as M80 found themselves suddenly reversing the man advantages and would pull out a surprise 16-14 win.
