Will jks be able to return to greatness on Liquid?

Official: Liquid complete roster with jks

The Australian star has landed on Liquid after a lengthy period in free agency.

Following the announcement of Polish AWPer, Roland "ultimate" Tomkowiak, earlier today, Liquid have completed their lineup with the addition of Justin "jks" Savage to their ranks. The addition of jks alongside ultimate and Danish coach Torbjørn "mithR" Nyborg was first reported on July 8th by Dust2.us and HLTV, with Liquid's roster for the second half of 2024 finally taking form following the departures of Casper "cadiaN" Møller, Wilton "zews" Prado, and Felipe "skullz" Medeiros over the course of the past month.

jks comes into Liquid as the organization's new marquee signing, with the Australian being a fan-favorite player for his time with Renegades, 100 Thieves, Complexity, and most recently G2. His most recent outing with G2 saw the Australian win IEM Katowice 2023 and IEM Cologne 2023 at the tail end of CS:GO before being benched in favor of Nemanja "nexa" Isaković, who has now also since left G2.

In his new home under Liquid, jks will look to return to his peak form which occasionally broke through on G2 but has largely shown itself inconsistently since leaving 100 Thieves in 2020. Perhaps his reunion with Keith "NAF" Markovic, whom he played with all the way back in 2017 through 2018 will inspire a renaissance in the 28-year-old rifler. However, it is worth noting that jks lacks crucial experience in Counter-Strike 2, having only played a single event in Valve's new shooter — IEM Sydney 2024.

As such, all eyes will be on jks in this new Liquid roster to see if the veteran Australian can gracefully make a return to competition in CS2 while helping to lead Liquid back to the top of the scene in the second half of 2024.

Liquid are now:

  • Canada Keith "NAF" Markovic

  • Mareks "YEKINDAR" Gaļinskis

  • Canada Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken

  • Roland "ultimate" Tomkowiak

  • Australia Justin "jks" Savage

  • Denmark Torbjørn "mithR" Nyborg (Coach)

Liquid's new roster will make their debut at the BLAST Premier Fall Groups, which are set to start on July 29th.
