ARTiSAN sign dayV1D as head coach

The globe-trotting coach has found a new home with a Thai organization that seemingly has serious backing.

Matt "dayV1D" David has continued his adventures as North America's globe-trotting coach, having linked up today with Thai organization ARTiSAN to help coach and build-up their Asian CS:GO lineup.

For those who don't know, dayV1D is known for almost exclusively coaching squads outside of North America. His four most recent outings saw him bounce between Australia, Asia, and Europe, working with the Australians of Dire Wolves, an Israeli lineup under Finest, a European squad under Secret, and an Indian lineup under Global.

ARTiSAN formed in early 2021 and is almost entirely unknown in CS:GO outside of niche fans of the Asian sceneThey primarily play in ESEA Open Asia-Pacific alongside a handful of other domestic events, most recently claiming a third-fourth place spot in ESEA Open Asia-Pacific Season 38.

While the organization has yet to find success in the region, they have strong backing from their owners — Francisco "escudo" Mascarenhas, Amir "Kyro" Afzali, and Achi "ashy" Masayavanich. escudo is a Macanese CS:GO player with experience in the Chinese and Indian CS:GO scenes while Kyro is a successful Thai CS:GO skins trader.

The final owner ashy is by far the most interesting and will likely have the deepest war chest as his parents are Krirkphol "Fluke" Masayavanich and Natalie Chearavanont — a pair of Thai actors and singers. Somewhat interestingly, we can count Masayavanich as an NA native alongside dayV1D as he was born in Tennessee.

Through his mother, ashy also has ties to the Chearavanont clan which is Thailand's wealthiest family due to their ownership of Charoen Pokphand — Thailand's largest private company.

dayV1D told Dust2.us that he will likely be making changes to the lineup as he looks to improve the squad after a mediocre first year. While he couldn't confirm any changes, Kiran "Rossi" R., R. K. "Terminate" Praveen, and  Temuulen "MiQ" Byambadalai are no longer on the team's ESEA roster while Russian duo Nikita "daBoi" Larichev and Danil "W1nd" Marchenko have been added alongside Filipino player "Bryle".

ARTiSAN's lineup is expected to be:

  •  Jeffery "cara" Iman
  •  Rafael "Raph" Marçal
  • Nikita "daBoi" Larichev
  •  Danil "W1nd" Marchenko
  •  Bryle Enzo "Bryle" Dayoa
  • United States Matt "dayV1D" David (Coach)

ARTiSAN will play their debut match in ESEA Open Asia-Pacific Season 39 against YeakSa on October 25th at 8AM EDT.
