Complexity smashed by FURIA to exit YaLLa Compass 2024
Complexity has ended their run in the UAE at YaLLa Compass 2024 with a loss to FURIA punctuated by a one-sided T-side, marking a disappointing finish to Complexity's second LAN in a row, with the team also finishing IEM Dallas 2024 in joint last place. The best of one versus FURIA was Complexity's last chance to challenge for a spot in playoffs in Abu Dhabi after losses earlier in the tournament to BIG and BetBoom.
While many would expect Complexity to force out a win against the struggling Brazilians, the team looked flat while FURIA were able to rally around a strong performance from Kayke "kye" Bertolucci to take Inferno 13-8 to send Complexity packing.
The match on Inferno began with FURIA winning their T-side pistol round before conceding the force buy round the following round to their American opponents. Despite losing these two pivotal rounds, FURIA recovered quickly and posted an utterly dominant T-side, winning the half 9-3 while Complexity were only able to put one more round on the board before switching sides.
On their CT-side, Complexity finally began to show signs of life as they started their own T-side by winning five of the first six rounds in a row. However, the round deficit was far too tall a task to overcome especially as Ricky "floppy" Kemery and Michael "Grim" Wince struggled to find kills with FURIA ultimately closing out the match 13-9.
Complexity will now head to Sweden for ESL Challenger Jönköping, where the team will look to end their season on a strong note after disappointing finishes at IEM Dallas 2024 and now YaLLa Compass 2024.
