Complexity brought back down to earth
Well, this has certainly been an interesting event so far. After getting off to a flying start with victories over Eternal Fire and BIG, they got a taste of their own medicine this morning against a former member of the organization. With the loss against BetBoom as well, Complexity's lives in the event are now in danger with the next match against FURIA leaving it all to play for.
Heading into today with a 2-0 record, Complexity was hoping that they would be able to essentially wrap things up with a victory against Fnatic, but those dastardly Europeans had other plans. It could have been morning jitters, it could have been the map, but fnatic just utterly trounced the Americans on Inferno.
Johnny "JT" Theodosiou was unable to break through the defenses of fnatic as his squad only managed three rounds throughout the first half, two of which came off the back of winning the opening pistol round. The defense was even worse as Complexity failed to get a single round as they went out 13-3.
Things went from bad to worse as Complexity then had to play BetBoom on Nuke, a map where the Russians were significantly more than comfortable on. With The Americans on the defense, they struggled to find consistency as BetBoom's T-side seemed to overwhelm them. With an economy that never went in their favor, Complexity also struggled on their T-side despite flashes of brilliance.
Complexity are now 2-2 in the groups, but have not yet been eliminated. They play FURIA later today in a match that will determine if they can qualify. While record is important, they need as many rounds as they can get to ensure qualification.
