First Round of ECL playoffs sees BOSS eliminated, NRG sent to lower bracket
The first round of playoffs for the ESL Challenger League Season 47 has officially kicked off with action happening in both the upper and lower brackets. Playoffs this season are heating up as Nouns, M80, and Wildcard are some of the top teams looking to earn one of the two available spots in ESL Pro League Season 20. With competition coming from Party Astronauts, NRG, and Elevate, it's anyone's game as the action unfolds this week.
The most intense battle last night was between Nouns and NRG, with the former coming away with a tight 2-1 win to ensure they would meet M80 in the next round of the upper bracket. Nouns and NRG traded map picks, with Nouns ending up securing Ancient 13-4 to capitalize a see-saw match.

We're already saying goodbye to BOSS and Carpe Diem as they lost in the opening round of the lower bracket. LAG proved to be the winners in the first round of playoffs as they secured Mirage and Ancient in a 2-0 sweep. The European-American squad have proven to be a handful this season and are not prepared to let their season end just yet.

Mythic are another surprise victor last night as they closely defeated BOSS in another 2-0 match of the night. Erik "fl0m" Flom, freshly back from attending IEM Dallas, was the best player on the server last night as his 110.5 overall ADR topped the charts. He guided his team to a dominant 13-6 victory on their pick of Mirage and then an overtime victory on Ancient where they proved to be a handful on the T-side.

Finally, Party Astronauts had one of the most entertaining matches for neutral viewers as both sides traded map picks and the decider coming down to the wire. Elevate were sent to the lower bracket after a 1-2 loss with Party Astronauts taking their pick of Mirage, losing out on Nuke when they could have closed it out, and then storming ahead on their T-side of Anubis to secure the victory.
