Dust2.us Eagle Masters Series 1 Day 5 Recap - Getting Info lock in playoffs
Day five of the Dust2.us Eagle Masters Series 1 wrapped up last night, with it being a somewhat quiet day as only one Bo3 was played out. Super Shy forfeited their series versus Chicken Coop meaning we were left with one series — Getting Info v. Nouns. However, that series did not disappoint as a close two-map bout between the two teams sent our first team into the playoffs!
Getting Info 2-0 Nouns
Both maps in the series between Getting Info and Nouns ended up being extremely close, with 24 rounds played on Anubis and 23 rounds played on Mirage. On Anubis, while Nouns and Getting Info were in a dead heat in the first half, Getting Info were in control for much of the second half, climbing up to an 11-7 lead at one point before a back-and-forth affair would ultimately give Getting Info a chance to claim the map 13-11 in regulation.
Moving onto Mirage, Getting Info were utterly dominant on their T-side, going up 10-2 via strong performances from the squad's rifling pack. After switching sides, with their backs against the wall Nouns were diligently to close the gap, winning six out of the first seven rounds in a row on their own T-side. Nouns continued to have a controlling presence on their T-side, however Getting Info's lead proved too much to overcome as the team put together three scrappy rounds throughout the half to ultimately take Mirage 13-10 and win the series 2-0.
