M80 secure Thunderpick World Championships spot after Nouns victory

Headed to Europe!

M80 are headed to the Thunderpick World Championships after taking down Nouns last night in the Grand Final of the first North American qualifier for the event.

It was a hard-fought event for M80 as they breeze through every round prior without dropping a single map until meeting Nouns in the final. The DAO-supported squad were the first team in the event to take a series lead against M80 and did so on Mirage by holding off a surprising comeback from the Bomb Squad.

M80 would get their revenge on Ancient and Inferno where Nouns struggled to hold back M80's offensive prowess. M80 jumped ahead to take a 9-3 lead on Ancient's T-side before limping over the finish line on their defense to secure a 13-8 map win.

Inferno was a different story, and one where it was over almost as soon as it began. Nouns found M80's defenses impenatrable as they only managed to get three rounds in the first half. M80 cleaned it up swiftly in the second half as they secured a 13-4 map win to take the series 13-4.

M80 earned a place in the Thunderpick World Championships, which will take place this October in Europe.
