Complexity on hallzerk's future: "A decision has been made, contracts are being done"
The will-they or won't-they on Håkon "hallzerk" Fjærli's contract has been a talking point over the last few weeks, especially after the comments made by the Norweigen in an interview where he said that ESL Pro League Season 19 would be a "make or break" event.
His performances at EPL 19 were certainly favorable for the AWPer as he produced highlight reel after highlight reel which helped his squad reach the semifinals of the tournament.
The player's contract comes to an end quite soon which make nearly two years since singing for the team in July 2022. The AWPer has had highs and lows with the team, but has remained a core part of the squad since his arrival.
Speculation over who Complexity could sign has ramped up within the community. Many point to NRG's Josh "oSee" Ohm as a potential option to replace hallzerk given his history with Ricky "floppy" Kemery, Ioannis 'Johnny' "JT" Theodosiou, and Tiaan "T.c" Coertzen. Dust2.us understands that Complexity have a good relationship with hallzerk and he remains a favorite to continue with the squad going forward.
Complexity's General Manager Graham "messioso" Pitt commented on the situation during an Ask Me Anything on Twitch last night that asked about the contract status and if it depended on his performance at IEM Dallas.
It does not depend on his performance at Dallas. I can tell you that a decision has been made about hallzerk's contract situation. Hopefully we will have news soon about the future of the AWP position on the team. We're very happy with what we're looking to build and what we're looking to do... a decision has been made, contracts are being done. News soon.
Complexity are scheduled to face off in a North American derby this Monday as they face Liquid to open up IEM Dallas 2024.
