Liquid set for Astralis rematch
It was looking close there as Aurora won the first map of the series this morning, but Astralis pulled through and delivered a crucial 2-1 victory once again under Nicolai "dev1ce" Reedtz's leadership. The danish squad have continued to grow and improve since their reformation with dev1ce's evolution as an IGL the most interesting development of all.
Now Casper "cadiaN" Møller will face his former teammates Martin "stavn" Lund and Jakob "jabbi" Nygaard for the second time in quick succession and will look for revenge in this second matchup. The first time the two squads played together it was clear to everyone that Astralis was simply the better team.
Since then, Liquid have had their moment in the spotlight as rumors surround the team and the future of cadiaN in the starting lineup. He is rumored to be potentially removed come IEM Dallas 2024, but should the team find success here and now, is it possible that plans change? cadiaN is no longer fighting to ensure that his squad pull through with victories, but might be fighting for a spot in this team.
As for the matchup tomorrow morning, Liquid will need to be on top of their game. They've had an easier time so far in the CCT Global Finals thanks to easy victories over OG, AMKAL, and ENCE, with Astralis now being the first real test.
Both squads are coming off of successful finishes at ESL Pro League Season 19, but tomorrow will be a match to watch as two of the better teams in the tournament square off in the semifinals of the $500,000 event.
