Top plays from Liquid's run in EPL S19 Group C
Liquid have locked in playoffs at ESL Pro League Season 19, marking their second straight playoffs appearance after doing so at IEM Chengdu. While this run was undoubtedly scrappy and did not see Liquid have to take on any true contenders, they put on a thrilling performance with a number of highlights. Here are some of Dust2.us' favorites from Group C.
#5: Twistzz 1v2 vs. FURIA on Mirage
While the first kill for Russell "Twistzz" Van Dulken in the clutch against FURIA was a bit dicey, the second kill against Marcelo "chelo" Cespedes was absolutely sublime as the Canadian managed to force a third map against FURIA all on his own.
#4: NAF 1v2 post-plant defense vs. FURIA on Nuke
Fantastic game sense paired with immaculate aim was enough for Keith "NAF" Markovic to win Liquid's second round on Nuke against FURIA, not budging an inch as he outsmarted Yuri "yuurih" Santos' attempt to fake a defuse.
#3: Twistzz 1v2 post-plant defense vs. Monte on Ancient
Alex "Machine" Richardson said the round was unwinnable, but apparently Twistzz didn't read the script. The Canadian pulled off the unthinkable as he planted the bomb with seconds to spare before flying around the bombsite amidst a hail of bullets to take down the two remaining Monte players and force a second overtime on Ancient.
#2: cadiaN 1v3 retake vs. Monte on Ancient
During the second overtime on Ancient against Monte, Casper "cadiaN" Møller wielded the AWP like a boom stick as he nimbly navigated around the site to take down a trio of Monte players before defusing the bomb to equal things up at 19-19 against the European team. Importantly this round seemingly broke their backs as Monte would fail to win any more rounds before Liquid closed out Ancient 22-19.
#1: cadiaN AWP ACE vs. Monte on Mirage
In another absolute stunner, cadiaN put Liquid on his back as he pulled off a picturesque bomb defense on Mirage from Connector, using the big green gun to its fullest potential as his teammates fell around him. The ACE was claimed at the last possible moment as Sergiy "DemQQ" Demchenko desperately tried to defuse the bomb. However, cadiaN was having none of it as he blasted the IGL to secure Liquid the 2-0 versus Monte to lock in playoffs.
With their win over Monte, Liquid have secured a spot in playoffs and will now face off against MOUZ on May 4th at 01:30PM as they look to carve a path straight into the quarterfinals.
