M80 set to debut new lineup tonight
M80 are set to debut their new roster tonight in the Esports World Cup North America Closed Qualifier, marking the first time since signing IGL Elias "s1n" Stein in late March that all five players will be on the server together.
The delay in the full lineup's debut was a result of visa issues affecting s1n and German AWPer Fritz "slaxz-" Dietrich, with the duo only recently arriving in Canada and the United States, respectively. In the interim before the duo arrived in North America, s1n played from Germany while analyst Bobby "Stamina" Eitrem filled in for the slaxz- due to ping issues.
Tonight's matches are also significant for M80 as it will be the first time in 89 days that the team have been able to play with a full roster since Marcus "maNkz" Kjeldsen stepped down from the team in late January. In his stead, coach Rory "dephh" Jackson had been filling in for the team, and while he performed admirably, a return to normalcy will likely help M80 as they continue to battle for a top spot in the North American scene.
While M80 will be playing tonight in an attempt to earn a spot in the $1m Esports World Cup in Riyadh, they are also set to head out to Malta in short order for ESL Pro League Season 19, where they are also set to play their first LAN with their new roster.
M80's roster consists of:
-
Mario "malbsMd" Samayoa
-
Michael "Swisher" Schmid
-
Ethan "reck" Serrano
-
Fritz "slaxz-" Dietrich
-
Elias "s1n" Stein
-
Rory "dephh" Jackson (Coach)
M80 will be facing off against Elevate in their opening match tonight at 05:30PM.
