M80 unveil s1n
As first reported by Dust2.us, M80 have unveiled the addition of former BIG player Elias "s1n" Stein, who is set to take over as the team's IGL. The German's addition to M80's ranks marks the conclusion of a tumultuous period for the American organization, which began when Marcus "maNkz" Kjeldsen stepped down from M80's starting lineup on January 18th for mental health reasons.
With the Danish IGL out of action, M80 were forced to field Rory "dephh" Jackson for the first quarter of the year. While the former player performed admirably, the stand-in situation undoubtedly affected M80's fortunes, especially at the PGL Copenhagen Major Americas RMR, where the team were a handful of rounds away from qualifying to the first Counter-Strike 2 Major.
The team will now be able to put that all behind them with s1n coming in as their new IGL. This will be s1n's first IGL role since leading BIG Academy back in 2023, although he also flirted with the role as an understudy of Johannes "tabseN" Wodarz and Fatih "gob b" Dayik on BIG.
M80 are now:
-
Mario "malbsMd" Samayoa
-
Michael "Swisher" Schmid
-
Ethan "reck" Serrano
-
Fritz "slaxz-" Dietrich
-
Elias "s1n" Stein
-
Rory "dephh" Jackson (Coach)
-
Bobby "stamina" Eitrem (Analyst)
With M80 pulling out of IEM Chengdu 2024, s1n's LAN debut with M80 will have to wait until the team play in Group B of ESL Pro League Season 19 which is set to come after the league starts on April 23rd.
