Report: M80 set to sign former BIG player
According to multiple sources, Dust2.us understands that M80 are set to acquire Elias "s1n" Stein from BIG to serve as the team's new IGL. The pickup comes after M80 trawled the market looking for a replacement for Danish IGL Marcus "maNkz" Kjeldsen, who has been on the bench since late January for mental health reasons.
s1n is set to join M80 after being benched on BIG in mid-February, with the 22-year-old being displaced in favor of former MOUZ and 00 Nation played Jon "JDC" de Castro.
The move will hopefully see M80 enter the second half of the year with a full roster after struggling for many months without their IGL. In the interim, the team has been fielding coach and retired player Rory "dephh" Jackson as a stand-in with mixed results. While the Brit posted an admirable performance in his most recent event, the PGL Major Copenhagen Americas RMR, his presence in the starting five was ultimately untenable as M80 look to become a top NA squad.
s1n's addition to M80 will see him take over IGL duties after previously being the IGL of BIG Academy while also flirting with the role on BIG briefly. s1n will be joined on M80 with fellow German player Fritz "slaxz-" Dietrich, another rising star in the German scene who went international in late 2023.
Dust2.us reached out to M80 for comment on the move, with the organization not replying by the time of publication.
