NA teams swapped out for IEM Chengdu
ESL have announced that Complexity and M80 have both pulled out of IEM Chengdu 2024 and been replaced by Liquid and Wildcard, seeing the latter two squads carry the torch of NACS in China. While ESL did not specify a reason for the two teams withdrawing, it is understood that visa issues frustrated Complexity and M80's efforts, with Dust2.us previously reporting that Complexity would miss the event due to visa issues.
Looking at the replacements, Liquid joins the event as a direct replacement for M80, with Liquid finishing in second place in the IEM Chengdu 2024 NA Closed Qualifier. As for Wildcard, their addition to the Chinese event seems to be a conscious effort by ESL to find a direct NA replacement. Complexity qualified to Chengdu via an ESL World Ranking invite, something Wildcard would be ineligible for as they were ranked 63rd in the world at the time when invites went out on January 8th.
Regardless of the reason, Wildcard will likely jump at the opportunity to play their first international LAN since entering CS:GO in April 2023.
With these two changes, the team list for IEM Chengdu 2024 is now:
• Astralis
• FaZe
• FURIA
• G2
• Heroic
• MOUZ
• Lynn Vision
• Liquid
• Monte
• Cloud9
• Virtus.pro
• Nemiga
• Wildcard

• Jeeves
• TYLOO
IEM Chengdu 2024 is set to start on April 8th.
