Liquid re-enter HLTV Top 20
After a stellar run at IEM Chengdu 2024, Liquid have returned to HLTV's top twenty per HLTV's April 15th ranking update — with the team now ranked 17th in the world. Remember that only a month ago, Liquid fell out of HLTV's Top 30 after missing the PGL Major Copenhagen 2024.
Liquid's return to grace and rise through the rankings comes after the squad netted wins over HEROIC and G2 in Chengdu, which allowed them to claim a spot in the playoffs. While the team did suffer losses to MOUZ and FaZe while out in China, losing to the eventual grand finalists is a much better state of affairs for Liquid compared to earlier in the year.
Looking at the bigger picture, Liquid are currently around ~90 points outside of the top ten on HLTV's rankings. While they will have to wait some time for Group C to begin at ESL Pro League Season 19, should Liquid make a deep run in Malta, there is a real possibility they could enter the top ten by the end of May.
Considering that Liquid's path to playoffs would see them only need to beat FURIA and one of "Frankenstein" FORZE or Monte, the next Month for Liquid may prove to be their way back into the upper crust of the scene.
