FaZe heading to Major final!
It was a battle of the European titans tonight as FaZe took down Vitality in a back-and-forth best of three which saw the reigning Major champion dumped out of the PGL Copenhagen Major. Mathieu "ZywOo" Herbaut and his squad were unable to quell the newest GameSquare side and will be forced to see tomorrow's final from the sidelines.
The match began on Nuke, where FaZe were first to make a statement in the match as they dominated on their T-side and quickly took a strong 9-3 lead to get the crowd roaring. While Vitality tried their best to get back into the game, it didn't work as the international squad only mustered four rounds on their CT-side to fall 13-7.
Vertigo was a much different story as FaZe let their usual permaban through, allowing Vitality to capitalize. It didn't take long for Vitality to show that their Vertigo was strong as they won the first half 10-2 before closing out the map 13-5.
While Vitality might have had the momentum, it was FaZe who would inevitably close out the series as they were always in control of Inferno. The star-studden squad won the first half 7-5 while on their T-side, setting themselves up for a dominant 13-8 win to secure the series 2-1.
FaZe are now awaiting to see if they play Natus Vincere or G2 in tomorrow's final.
