mCe leaves Bad News Bears to coach Gen.G VALORANT

Bad News Bears are currently in the process of looking for a replacement coach.

Matthew "mCe" Elmore has become the latest player to make the jump to VALORANT, being signed as Gen.G's head coach today. mCe replaces Andrew "Blank" Leverette, who has become the team's manager.

mCe's long career as a player saw him play for the likes of SoaR and Dignitas, notably leading the former team to qualify to ESL Pro League Season 7 after besting Rise Nation in ESEA MDL Season 26 finals.

After being released from Dignitas in early-2018, mCe began to transition into his now familiar role as a coach, linking up with Spencer "Hiko" Martin's Rogue, helping them claim a second place finish at DreamHack Open Austin 2018 and qualify to the FACEIT London Major.

After parting ways with Rogue, mCe briefly returned to the server with his former SoaR teammates on The Quest, transitioning back to a coaching role as they found a new home with Triumph.

In early 2020, mCe joined Chaos in his most successful venture in CS:GO. During his year at the helm of Chaos, the team won five domestic titles including IEM Beijing: North America and DreamHack Masters Winter: North America. Despite peaking at number 17 on HTLV's world rankings, Chaos released their CS:GO lineup at the end of 2020, with mCe and his teammates left in the lurch as no organization was willing to sign the successful lineup. From the ashes of ex-Chaos, mCe and Jonathan "Jonji" Carey  recently formed Bad News Bears, mCe’s last team before accepting the offer to join Gen.G.

mCe’s legacy as a coach and IGL includes developing a number of players on top teams in North America and abroad, including Jonji, Liquid’s Michael “Grim” Wince, and Cloud9’s Erick “Xeppaa” Bach.

Gen.G VALORANT with the addition of mCe is now:

  • Canada Anthony "gMd" Guimond
  • Canada Danny "huynh" Huynh
  • Canada Michael "MkaeL" De Luca
  • United States Shawn "Shawn" O'Riley
  • United States Kenneth "koosta" Suen
  • United States Matthew "mCe" Elmore (Coach)
  • Canada Keven "PLAYER1" Champagne (Inactive)

As a result of mCe leaving to Gen.G, Bad News Bears are currently on the lookout for a new coach. The team recently used Nathan "madcow" Retterath in ESEA Winter Cash Cup 4 although Peter "ptr" Gurney tells Dust2.us that his trial is still in early days and the team are considering their options. Bad News Bears will be taking on Oceanus tomorrow in ESEA Premier Season 36 at 9PM EST.

Sucks to see him leave CS right when they were starting to get momentum but happy that he found such a good position in Valorant. Good luck legend.
