What to expect from Complexity v. FaZe
Destiny wouldn't have it any other way. After facing off in the grand final of IEM Sydney 2023 and in the semifinals of BLAST Premier Fall Final 2023 during the GameSquare acquisition of FaZe, Complexity and the Clan meet again, this time with Complexity under the ownership of Jason Lake and FaZe fully under the control of GS.
There's a lot at stake here, a spot in the playoffs of the first-ever CS2 Major, an Elimination Stage spot for the Americas region come the Shanghai Major, and, obviously, a personal desire to beat the team that replaced Complexity as a GameSquare asset. Safe to say, they must be excited to play this one.
Jason Lake's Complexity
Complexity may have lost the financial support of a big enterprise, but they got back the grassroots desire to win, that personal vendetta that makes you want to win even more. That comes a lot from Jason Lake and his presence in Copenhagen. Sure, the team looked dead against MOUZ, but they bounced back yesterday with a great performance, and I like to imagine that comes a lot from Jason Lake and TC talks with the players.
-
EliGE had an off day yesterday; he can't have another today
-
The rest of the team looked good yesterday; they need to do the same today
-
hallzerk had a great series, but missed some easy yet crucial shots
Mom, can we have FaZe? We have FaZe at home. FaZe at home:
I don't know who these guys are, but it's certainly not the same FaZe we saw during the start of the year. This team just barely got away with the win against Imperial, were smacked by Eternal Fire, and struggled against FURIA. ropz is playing like an average player, rain is looking clean (washed), and the only one looking decent is broky. What is going on with FaZe?
-
With these performances, elimination is imminent
-
Veto favors FaZe, statistically
-
broky has been very good
Previous Matchups
This is probably the biggest rivalry in CS2, so far. Mostly because of the GameSquare acquisition, but Complexity and FaZe have been facing off in very important stages of tournaments. Grand final of IEM Sydney, the BLAST Premier Fall Final semifinals, and now in the 2-2 bracket of the PGL Copenhagen Major. Complexity haven't been able to win any of the previous series, but this is the one that matters the most. Can they do it today?
