Yeah prevail in Brazilian derby to win ESEA Autumn Cash Cup 4
After splitting hairs and going down to the last round on each of the first two maps, Yeah were able to secure some extra breathing room in the decider and claim the ESEA Autumn Cash Cup 4 crown.
Yeah jumped out to an early 10-5 lead on Inferno, but crumbled when they shifted to the defensive side of the map. paiN won the first five rounds of the second half and tied the game before Yeah woke up and were even able to put a round on the board. paiN had Yeah backed into a corner with a 14-13 lead, but the Brazilian-American mix rallied and secured the final three rounds and escaped in regulation with a 1-0 series lead. Rafael "saffee" Costa led all players with 23 kills, while Brandon "bew" Roberts led Yeah with 22 eliminations.
paiN bounced back on their own map pick, but they needed two overtimes to wrestle Nuke away from Yeah. Both sides won eight rounds on CT-side, but it was paiN who fought off Yeah's match point to force the first six extra rounds. It took all twelve rounds of the two overtimes for paiN to even the series at one map apiece. Three players from paiN broke thirty kills as saffee, Gabriel "NEKIZ" Schenato, and Rodrigo "biguzera" Bittencourt pitched in 34, 33, and 30 frags, respectively. Michael "Swisher" Schmid put up 33 kills in the losing effort for Yeah.
paiN were able to secure a slim 8-7 lead after their T-side on Overpass, but they simply looked unprepared for Yeah's ensuing second-half offensive. paiN managed just two rounds on defense as Yeah steamrolled their way to a map, series, and tournament victory. Arthur "f4stzin" Schmitt dropped 24 kills on his former team, while his old IGL, Vinicios "PKL" Coelho, didn't even break double digits.
The final results of ESEA Autumn Cash Cup 4 are:
1st. Yeah (RCF, dumau, Swisher, bew, f4stzin) - $3,000
2nd. paiN (PKL, NEKIZ, hardzao, biguzera, saffee) -$1,000
3-4th. ex-Cloud9 (Sonic, JT, oSee, motm, Infinite)
3-4th. Depth (reck, shane, dare, snav, KEL)
